WHAT HAPPENED?
Reigning Women's Super League champions Chelsea edged out rivals Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday at Washington courtesy of a 54th-minute strike from Sandy Baltimore. This was the second friendly match the Blues played in their ongoing US tour after a 3-1 win over Gotham FC last week.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
After the match, new manager Sonia Bompastor gave a motivating speech during the team huddle, praising the squad for a fantastic performance. After the French manager's short pep talk, skipper Bright added one line and took a dig at the Gunners in the process.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID
Addressing the team, Bompastor said, "Congrats on the result, it's always good to win, this is why we're on the pitch. I told you before it was important to win against this rival to mark our space. I really liked the way you worked very hard as a team."
Bright then added, "London's always blue and now DC is, so well done."
