WHAT HAPPENED?
In May, the German stepped down as Liverpool manager after nearly nine years in the role but it is clear he still has so much affection for his former club – and some players in particular. In a new interview, the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss waxed lyrical about the England international's ability on the ball, his range of passing, and how he has improved other parts of his game, too.

WHAT JURGEN KLOPP SAID
He told : "His right foot is ridiculous. It's ridiculous. I mean, I enjoy highlight reels. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but with Trent Alexander-Arnold [his] highlight video is insane; because you don't need goals, it's just the passes. You just watch the passes, how is that possible? I could pass the ball myself but not like that. I remember that Trent was a brilliant kid but physically not ready so we always had to take him off after 60 minutes – all fine. But he developed in that department obviously as well."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The watching footballing world is waiting to see what Klopp will do next. He reportedly turned down an approach from the USMNT and ruled himself out of contention to succeed Gareth Southgate as England boss. While it remains to be seen what the German turns to next, he had a great deal of success at Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold played a big role in that.
